India in talks with 4 countries to complete medical education of Ukraine returnees

India is in talks with Hungary, Poland, Romania and Kazakhstan to facilitate completion of medical education of students who have returned from war-torn Ukraine.
NEW DELHI: Apart from Hungary, India is also in talks with countries such as Poland, Romania and Kazakhstan to facilitate the completion of medical education of students who have returned from war-torn Ukraine, said S Jaishankar, external affairs minister of India.
"India in talks with Poland, Romania, Kazakhstan besides Hungary for completion of medical education of Ukraine returnees," said Jaishankar .

Recently, K Chandrasekhar Rao , chief minister of Telangana asked prime minister Narendra Modi to allow Ukraine returnee Indian medical students to join medical colleges in India in equivalent semesters by providing an exemption from the existing regulations. He also proposed the idea of giving one-time permission to increase the number of medical seats to accommodate Indian medical students from Ukraine in medical colleges across the country. This will help these students to complete their medical education. Telangana government has already decided to bear the fee expense of about 700 Telangana students who returned from Ukraine due to the Russia Ukraine war.
