IITs to provide mentorship to NITTTR for up-skilling teachers: Dharmendra Pradhan

Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan reviewed a presentation on teacher education with senior officials of MoE, IIT Madras.
NEW DELHI: Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan today reviewed a presentation on teacher education with senior officials of the Ministry of Education and faculty of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras .
“Today, Hon’ble Education Minister Shri dpradhanbjp held a review meeting on teacher education with the senior officials of EduMinOfIndia & faculty of iitmadras and said that IITs provide mentorship to NITTTR for up-skilling teachers,” the Ministry of Education tweeted.

During the discussion, Pradhan suggested that IITs provide mentorship to National Institute of Technical Teachers Training & Research (NITTTR) for up-skilling teachers. He said that technology must be leveraged to equip teachers with necessary skills to prepare for the challenges of the future, according to an official statement.

Pradhan further said that a necessary administrative framework shall be created to drive this initiative. He also called for working towards greater synergy between academia, industry and policy makers, as per the statement.

Recently, Pradhan reviewed the report on institutional mechanisms for capacity building of teacher, faculty in higher education institutes. Pradhan pitched in with an idea of a “Malviya Mission” to develop enabling ecosystem across the country for faculty development.
