Designed by leading experts at IIT Roorkee, the BhuDEV app aims to ensure the safety and resilience of Uttarakhand residents against seismic threats. The Center of excellence in disaster mitigation and management at IIT Roorkee took the initiative to design this app. IIT Roorkee experts have conducted extensive research to understand disasters and mitigate damage using current technological advancements.
About BhuDEV App
BhuDEV embodies the technological innovation of IIT Roorkee masterminds and the societal welfare the technology offers. Its primary goal is earthquake preparedness and safeguarding Uttarakhand communities. The app acts as a lifeline during crises, providing real-time earthquake alerts and emergency assistance.
The BhuDEV app features an emergency (SOS) button, allowing users to send their precise location to trusted contacts and relevant authorities. Users can also track ongoing app improvements and share their ideas through a user feedback mechanism.
The app's features are designed for immediate response. It also educates users about earthquakes, offering expert knowledge on response strategies. Users can gain valuable insights about earthquakes through the educational resources available on the BhuDEV app.
KK Pant, the director of IIT Roorkee, stated, "BhuDEV stands for preparedness and resilience during earthquakes. The app provides real-time information to users. We thank the government of Uttarakhand for their collaboration towards technological advancement."
