IIT Roorkee second-year BS-MS student dies in hostel

The student, Hanuman Gaiwa, was a resident of Jawahar Bhavan hostel, where he was found. IIT Roorkee extended condolences to his friends and family.
NEW DELHI : A second-year BS-MS student of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, Hanuman Galwa, was found dead in his room at the Jawahar Bhawan hostel. According to the IIT Roorkee statement, the institute is fully cooperating with the authorities as the police investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The event has profoundly affected the entire IIT community. The institute is committed to offer all the possible support to the student’s family during this difficult time.
“It is with profound sadness we share the tragic incident of the untimely demise of Hanuman Galwa, a 2nd-year BS-MS student, whose body was found in his room at the Jawahar Bhawan hostel. This heartbreaking event has deeply impacted the entire IIT Roorkee community," the IIT Roorkee statement adds.
