46% of IIT Hyderabad students yet to be placed this year, shows RTI reply

IIT Hyderabad Placements 2024: 843 students registered for placements while 388 are yet to be placed. Average, median salaries highest in 3 years.
NEW DELHI: 46 percent students in the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad are yet to be placed this year in the campus placements, as per an RTI reply. 23% of students were not placed in the year 2023 while 22% didn’t get job offers in the year 2022, the RTI reply showed.
An RTI filed by Dheeraj Singh sought information regarding the number of students who registered for the IIT Hyderabad placements, students who were placed, those who were not placed, and the salaries received by them.
The IIT Hyderabad placement data in the RTI reply shared by Singh showed that 843 students registered for the placements while 388 have not secured jobs yet in this year’s placement drive.
Recently, in another RTI reply, it was found that 40% students of IIT-Banaras Hindu University (IIT-BHU) were not placed last year. Similarly, close to 44% students of IIT Indore and 33% of IIT Kharagpur students are yet to be placed this year, as shown in the RTI replies by these institutions.
