IIT Guwahati reopens with full capacity in phased manner; BTech first year from March

IIT Guwahati: PhD, MTech first and final year students have already arrived; all BTech students will be recalled from March 14.
NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has started recalling students on campus in full capacity in a phased manner. All PhD, Dual Degree students, including those undergoing course work along with BTech, BDes fiinal year (2018 batch) and earlier batches have already been asked to come back on campus between February 19 and March 10.

Students of MA, MSc, MTech, MDes, MS(R) final year (2020 batch) and earlier batches as well as first year students have started coming back from February 23 and have time till March 10. Whereas, the first year students of these courses will begin arriving on campus from February 28.
IIT Guwahati will call back first, second and final year students of BTech and BDes from March 14 to 20.
“Only the students eligible for registration for the current semester are permitted to return, and students are currently arriving on the campus as per the given schedule,” said a statement from IIT Guwahati.

The institute has asked students to fill in their arrival details in the return portal and plan their travel to reach the campus as per the schedule. IITG has recommended the returning students to be fully vaccinated and produce their vaccination certificates upon arrival. If a student develops any symptom during the stay, they should inform the medical section, get tested, and undergo isolation as per the protocol.
IIT Guwahati has decided to start offline classes, and the Academic Affairs Section of the institute will issue a separate notice in this regard, it said.
