IIT Gandhinagar, LTTS to incubate, develop solutions in AI, mechatronics

Delegations from IITGN and LTTS discussed plans to set up labs, carry out joint projects, internships, and conduct workshops and seminars.
NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN), together with L and T Technology Services Limited (LTTS), an engineering services company, is in talks to collaborate to incubate and develop solutions in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and mechatronics sector.
According to a statement from IIT Gandhinagar, the delegations from LTTS and IITGN discussed plans to set up labs, carry out joint projects, include students through internships and other mechanisms, and conduct workshops and seminars in smart manufacturing, robotics, bio-mechatronics and ‘intelligent’ products and systems.
This industry-academia collaboration between IIT Gandhinagar and LTTS is expected to support technological advancement through many projects and activities. "This collaboration will propel cutting-edge research and advancements in AI and Mechatronics," said the statement from IIT Gandhinagar.

“Considering the increasing scope and relevance of integration of AI, Mechatronics, and Robotics, we at IITGN have been advancing research in the field and contributing towards the development of an AI ecosystem. In this respect, the initiation of discussions with an organisation like LTTS will be a step towards creating skilled talent with knowledge and practical training, and will benefit academia with the opportunity to work on relevant technologies,” said Amit Prashant, officiating director of IIT Gandhinagar.
