IIT Gandhinagar launches first online master’s course; registration starts

Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar will start the classes of Master in Energy Policy and Regulation from January 2024.
NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) has launched its first online Master in Energy Policy and Regulation (EPR). Candidates can apply for the programme on the official website, sites.iitgn.ac.in.
The institute said the classes for the first batch of Master in EPR will start from January 2024. The IIT Gandhinagar said the programme has been introduced for working professionals to bridge the gap, cater to skill development as per the evolving demands of the energy sector, and foster innovation.
It said the two-year programme is designed with a flexible and executive-friendly structure for working professionals to concurrently accommodate their job commitments. The programme will have live interactive sessions in the evenings and on weekends. The students will be assisted by self-paced learning modules for strategic learning and discussions, the IIT Gandhinagar said.
Working professionals and students with a bachelor and a master degree in the relevant discipline such as engineering, economics, law, commerce, management and finance.
NO GATE required
The programme does not have requirements of GATE qualification for admission or thesis requirement for graduation. On successful completion of this degree programme, the candidates will get IITGN alumni status as well as mentorship and placement support from the Institute.
Naran M Pindoriya, associate professor and coordinator of the programme, IIT Gandhinagar, said, “The well-designed modules of this online master's programme are focused on giving practical insights to working professionals through case studies to enrich their knowledge in relevant domains of power sector transformation and clean energy transition.”
