IIT Delhi, Queensland University open applications for joint PhD; register by January 7

Download NowThe University of Queensland (UQ) Australia and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi have commenced the application process for the Joint Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme in July 2026. Candidates across diverse disciplines can apply on the official website, uqiitd.org, by January 7.
Candidates from across diverse disciplines, including Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Humanities, and Social Science and eligible to apply for the joint PhD programme. Graduates will be awarded a joint PhD degree from UQ and IIT Delhi upon successful completion.
Furthermore, online information sessions will also be organised on November 11 and December 10, where students will get to know more about the programme structure, eligibility, and application process. Apply on https://shorturl.at/vjVp1.

UQ-IIT Delhi Joint PhD schedule
According to the official website of UQ-IIT Delhi, the advisor shortlisting for the Joint PhD will be held from January 21 to March 4. The shortlisted candidates will be invited to appear for the interview round from March 30 onwards, and the interviews will be held from April 7 to 16.
Candidates will be sent offers from May 18 onwards, and the last date to accept offers is May 29. The classes will begin in July 2026.
“The UQ–IIT Delhi Joint PhD collaborative programme offers candidates the opportunity to undertake cutting-edge research under the supervision of leading academics from both institutions while experiencing the academic environments of India and Australia,” the official IIT Delhi statement said.
