IIT Delhi, IndiGo partner to develop solutions for airline industry

IIT Delhi, IndiGO collaboration will focus on improving customer experiences and optimising operational efficiency in the airline industry.

Download NowNEW DELHI : The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi collaborates with IndiGo, a part of InterGlobe Aviation Limited to develop innovative solutions for the airline industry. The partnership aims to focus on research to improve customer experiences and optimising operational efficiency.
The partnership will offer IndiGo customers personalised recommendations for flight deals and ancillary services such as travel insurance, meal packages, and hotel bookings as per their travel history, demographic profile and geo-IP addresses.
Additionally, the IIT Delhi team will work closely with IndiGo to develop disruptive management strategies to handle any sudden changes in flight and crew schedules.
“By integrating data from various modules—such as fleet recovery, crew recovery, and revenue estimation—the goal is to minimise the impact on passengers and crew while maximizing operational efficiency and revenue,” the IIT Delhi statement said.

The sponsored projects will be led by Varun Ramamohan from the department of mechanical engineering at IIT Delhi. The partnership will address the challenges faced in the aviation industry through research and innovation. The IIT Delhi and IndiGo partnership will set new benchmarks in operational efficiency and customer satisfaction in the airline industry.
