IIT Delhi, HORIBA to offer scholarships to PwD students

IIT Delhi will also be providing devices such as hearing aids, braille embosser printers, keyboard trays and braille signage to students with disabilities.

Download NowNEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD) signs an agreement with HORIBA India to support students with disabilities. Under the agreement, IIT Delhi, office of corporate relations (OAE) will be supporting PwD students.
The IIT Delhi will be providing an inclusive environment for students with disabilities and extend special assistance ranging from academics to infrastructure requirements to the students. Devices such as hearing aids, braille embosser printers, keyboard trays and braille signage, shall be provided to the students with disabilities with an aim to create a congenial environment for them to make their academics easy.

Speaking about the initiative, IIT Delhi faculty in-charge of students with disabilities Vikram Singh, said: “Ensuring full accessibility for all - to our buildings and facilities, workspaces, information and communications, conferences and events - with specific measures, equipment and services to achieve it is what this team is working on and CSR support like this would help us discover our full potential”.
The initiative aims to provide support students with disabilities, and will invite more corporates to partner with them and extend support in this initiative. HORIBA CFO Suparna Banerjee Bhattacharya added that the CSR policy of HORIBA is ‘Together We Shall Grow’. India can become a much stronger nation when each youth in society gets the best, accessible education.
