IIT Bombay’s Technology Innovation Hub hosts ATMAN 2.0, creates Rs 10 crore corpus

NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay’s Technology Innovation Hub (TIH) today hosted ATMAN 2.0, an event for innovators, researchers, and leaders from India's top institutions, to showcase Agri-IoT translational research.
The IIT Bombay-led TIH will fund 7 academic research projects, and will also provide technical development support, and lab-to-market guidance, the institute said.
Over 20 deeptech research projects from across the country participated in the expo and the research grant funding pitch fest. The event saw a creation of a corpus of Rs 10 crore, the institute added.
Commenting on the occasion, Abhay Karandikar, secretary, department of science and technology, said: “ATMAN 2.0 represents a major stride in advancing innovation, bridging labs to markets. It underscores our commitment to transforming academic research into impactful solutions for national progress.”

We are well-positioned to take on more projects of national importance,” Kiran Shesh, CEO, TIH, IIT Bombay, said.
The ATMAN 2.0 event saw the participation of deeptech academic researchers from IIT Delhi, IIT Kharagpur, IIT BHU, NIT Warangal, VNIT Nagpur and many more, the university said.
More than 10 industrialists including Poonawala Fincorp, Tata Communications, Jio, Tata Chemicals, L&T, participated in the event, which featured Agritech startups.
Milind Atrey, deputy director (academics, research and translation) at IIT Bombay, addressed the gathering, followed by Karandikar. The inaugural session concluded with the remarks of Ekta Kapoor, head, frontier and futuristic technology, department of science and technology.
