19 faculty members enroll for IIT BHU certificate course on advances in robotics

IIT BHU is offering six-month AICTE-sponsored certification for faculty members, 15 participants hold PhD degrees in engineering.
The Indian Institute of Technology - Banaras Hindu University (IIT BHU) has launched a postgraduate certificate programme on ‘Advances in Robotics: Methods, Processes, Applications and Technology’, sponsored by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The Precision Engineering Hub (PEH) is organising the programme under the AICTE’s Quality Improvement Programme (QIP).
The duration of the IIT BHU certificate course is six months. 19 faculty-level participants from nine states and union territories have enrolled for the certification. 15 learners hold PhD degrees in disciplines such as mechanical, electrical and electronics engineering.
Eight faculty experts from IIT BHU are delivering the course which features hands-on training in a dedicated advanced robotics lab. The programme is being offered in collaboration with FITAS Robotics and Embedded Systems Private Limited and incorporates industry talks by leading professionals to provide participants with practical, real-world perspectives.

IIT BHU director Amit Patra stressed on the importance of equipping educators with practical and advanced knowledge in digital technologies, automation and smart systems. He described this initiative as a significant step towards strengthening India’s capabilities in smart manufacturing and advanced robotics.
Recently, IIT BHU launched a certification in Internet of Things (IoT) and smart manufacturing for the upskilling of faculty members.
