IIM Lucknow becomes first IIM to launch full-time MBA in Entrepreneurship and Innovation

IIM Lucknow’s 16-month programme will begin from August and students will get 1:1 mentoring.
NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow has launched a full-time 16-month MBA in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. The last date to apply for admission in the MBA programme is June 30 and the course will start from August onwards. The official notification states that the programme is meant to teach the entrepreneurial competencies to students so that they can become successful entrepreneurs and innovators.
Archana Shukla, director, IIM Lucknow, said: “The MBA – E & I program leverages and strengthens the ecosystem.” The students will be mentored by over 500 IIM Lucknow alumni who are themselves entrepreneurs.
Application to the MBA programme in Entrepreneurship and Innovation is through the iiml.ac.in/admissions website.

IIM Lucknow: MBA eligibility, fees
To be eligible for the MBA programme, candidates must have a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in any discipline. They must have a valid Common Admission Test (CAT) score – the IIM CAT is the entrance test for the IIMs and several other premier management institutions – or a score for GMAT taking after January 1, 2021.
The fee for the new MBA course is Rs 14,30,000.
MBA Entrepreneurship and Innovation: Course details
As per the official statement, the programme is based on the ideas of the government’s “Make in India” campaign and National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The programme curriculum will include 50% content on philosophy and pedagogy of entrepreneurial knowledge and skills and 50% from industry inputs, immersion, and mentorship.

It will be a multidisciplinary course and students will receive guidance in preparing business plans, working with venture capitalists to refine it, fund accumulation, and preparing for launch.
Further, the students will also get the opportunity to obtain international entrepreneurial experience while working with visiting partner institutions or IIML’s two incubators or partner incubator, which are, IIML Enterprise Incubation Centre (a section 8 company) and Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) Incubator
