IIM Kozhikode confers 1,166 degrees at 25th convocation ceremony

In a first, the graduating class of IIMK this year wore complete ethnic wear. A total of 1,166 students receive degress in PGP, PhD programmes at IIMK.
NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) conducted its 25th convocation ceremony. The event witnessed a total of 1,166 students receiving degrees and titles. The chief guest of the IIMK convocation ceremony was union minister of external affairs V Muraleedharan while the guest of honor was Tata Power Company managing director Praveer Sinha.
The batch of 2023 witness 470 participants from IIMK’s flagship post graduate programme in management (PGP) being awarded the MBA degrees. In addition to this, the graduating students also included 10 students from the doctoral programme in management (PhD), 64 students from the one-year PGP in business leadership, 38 students from PGP in finance and 51 students from the PGP in liberal studies and management.

In a first, the graduating class of IIMK this year wore complete ethnic wear. All 1,166 students, both male students in kurta pyjamas, mundus and female students in kurta pyjama or sarees, were dressed in traditional Indian attire .
In his convocation address, chief guest V Muraleedharan congratulated the graduating students and appreciated the IIM Kozhikode community for creating the best in class human resources and leaders for the world. Addressing the graduating students in his convocation he added “The Century belongs to young minds and brilliant ambassadors like you. Next 25 years are crucial to India’s trajectory and growth story. You have a significant role to play in this tech-driven century by nurturing entrepreneurship to create an Atma Nirbhar Bharat. Linking personal goals to national goals is the key to achieve this.”
Speaking at the convocation, IIMK director Debashis Chatterjee thanked the dignitaries, families of the students on behalf of the IIMK community. He added that “IIM Kozhikode has a bifocal vision committing to the short term as well as the long term objectives. We are proud to admit that our students are not just competent individuals but also compassionate human beings, guided by IIMK’s ethos of Satyam (Authenticity), Nityam (Sustainability) and Purnam (fulfilment).”
