IIM Indore requires 5 years work experience for executive MBA; admission criteria out
IIM Indore 2025 Admissions: The application window for the one-year executive post-graduate programme in management (EPGP) will be available till January 2026.
The Indian Institute of Management Indore (IIM Indore) has published the eligibility criteria for admission to its one-year Executive Post-Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP) for the academic year 2026-27. The CAT scores have been given 50% weightage criteria for admitting candidates, while 45% has been given to personal interview and other 5% to diversity factor.
The application form for the EPGP programme is available on the IIM Indore’s official website at iimidr.ac.in till January 2026.
Those having at least 5 years of work experience will be considered eligible for the executive course. Along with 50% marks in bachelor’s or master’s degree, equivalent in any discipline, 50% in five-year integrated programme or other course of similar duration.
Notably, candidates must have a valid GMAT, GRE or CAT score. “The GMAT/GRE test date should be between November 1, 2020 to October 31, 2025 (for Phase-1) and January 11, 2021 to January 10, 2026 (for Phase-2), and the CAT score should be within 2 years from the application deadline. Hence, a CAT 2024/2025 score will be considered,” as per the official website.
Besides, five years of full time work experience is needed, and training, project work done as an integral part will not be accepted as experience, the institute stated.
A CAT aspirant, seeking admission to top IIMs, recently, told Careers360 that despite scoring 99.6 percentile in the Common Admission Test (CAT), he was not able to acquire any seat in the top IIMs in India.
He revealed that even after obtaining top scores in the CAT 2024 examination and holding a two years working experience as a mechanical engineer, he did not receive any admission letter from IIM Ahmedabad , Lucknow, Calcutta, Mumbai, Kozhikode, Bangalore , Shillong, and Indore.

Paras Raorane also said that MBA aspirants, who are aiming for admission to these top management institutes should preferably get some years of work experience, and participate in college events, or be part of different clubs to strengthen their resumes.
Personal interview plays a critical part in getting shortlisted in IIMs after CAT score , he said.
In addition, the IIM Ahmedabad, recently, increased its cut-off for admission to MBA programmes. The institute will admit candidates through the two-step process for its Post graduate programme in management (PGP). It has also tightened the selection criteria for CAT aspirants in the first stage.
Today, IIM Amendment Bill 2025 was passed in the Rajya Sabha, paving way for the first IIM in Guwahati, Assam. The Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan congratulated Assam CM Himanta Biswa and termed it as a historic milestone for the development of the northeastern state.
