IIM Bangalore launches certificate programme in personal finance, wealth advisory for professionals
IIM Bangalore and FPSB India launched a blended certificate programme starting March 27, 2026, priced at Rs 4.9 lakh (plus GST), for finance professionals.
The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) has launched a Certificate Programme on Personal Finance and Wealth Advisory, aimed at preparing professionals to build careers and enterprises in financial planning and wealth advisory.
The programme is offered in collaboration with Financial Planning Standards Board (FPSB) India, subsidiary of the global Financial Planning Standards Board and administrator of the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification.
Designed as a practice-oriented and business-focused programme, the course equips participants with technical financial knowledge alongside the entrepreneurial skills required to start and scale a personal finance or wealth advisory practice.
On successful completion, participants will be awarded a programme completion certificate by IIM Bangalore, with eligibility for a fast-track pathway to CFP certification, including exemptions from three specialist examinations. Additionally, they will receive IIMB Executive Education Programme (EEP) Alumni status, granting access to alumni benefits and professional networks.
IIMB: Programme structure
The programme curriculum spans five core modules, covering financial planning fundamentals, wealth management, retirement and employee benefits, insurance and tax planning, and business acumen.
Participants will be trained in client-centric advisory practices, ethical decision-making, digital tools and firm-building strategies relevant to modern financial planning.

The programme, beginning from March 27, 2026, and concluding on March 13, 2027, comprises 140 sessions delivered in blended mode:

50 in-person sessions conducted on campus

90 live online sessions conducted remotely
IIM Bangalore Admission: Eligibility and Fee
Eligibility requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, commerce or arts, along with a minimum of three years of work experience, preferably in financial services.
The programme is suitable for professionals from banks, NBFCs (Non-Banking Financial Company), AMCs(Asset Management Company), insurance companies, investment firms, family offices and Registered Investment Advisors.
The programme has been independently designed, delivered and certified by IIM Bangalore, with FPSB India enabling the CFP certification linkage.
The programme fee is Rs 4,90,000 (excluding GST) for the non-residential format.
The last date to apply is February 23, 2026.
