IIM Ahmedabad, FPSB India launch executive programme in financial planning and investment advisory

IIM Ahmedabad Course Launch: The admission for IIM-A' executive programme in financial planning and investment advisory will be open from March to September.
NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) partners with Financial Planning Standards Board India (FPSB India), to launch executive programme in ‘financial planning and investment advisory services. The one-year executive programme in financial planning is designed for mid-to-senior-level finance professionals.
As per the official statement, the IIM Ahmedabad-FPSB partnership aligns with the broader vision of Viksit Bharat. Highlighting the relevance of the programme, Krishan Mishra, CEO of FPSB India, stated, “This collaboration with IIM Ahmedabad marks a defining moment in the evolution of financial planning education in India. With financial advisory services gaining increased recognition and regulatory significance, this program will empower professionals with the advanced expertise needed to navigate the complexities of today’s financial markets.”
IIM Ahmedabad Course Launch: Programme overview
The IIM Ahmedabad executive programme is designed for mid-to-senior-level finance professionals looking to enhance their expertise in investment advisory and financial planning. The curriculum covers areas such as investment management, tax and retirement planning, portfolio risk management, estate planning, insurance, and alternative investments. Additionally, the IIM Ahmedabad's programme will focus on behavioral finance, leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
Joshy Jacob from IIM Ahmedabad highlighted the importance of financial planning in economic development, stating that the program integrates academic knowledge with industry insights to create a transformative learning experience.
Jacob said, “Financial planning is a crucial pillar of economic development. With this program, IIMA and FPSB India are bringing together academic excellence and industry expertise to create a transformational learning experience for finance professionals.”
Admission details
Admissions for the inaugural batch of IIM Ahmedabad ’s newly launched programme will be open from March to August. As per IIM-A, classes for executive programme in financial planning and investment advisory will commence in September 2025.
The IIM Ahmedabad’s newly launched programme follows a blended learning model, incorporating 84 weekend online sessions with 10 days of immersive on-campus learning at IIMA. Participants will engage in real-world case studies, industry interactions, and interactive classroom discussions led by faculty and experts. Graduates of the programme will gain ‘alumni’ status as per IIM Ahmedabad.
