IGNOU launches B.Sc. (Hons.) in Biochemistry from July 2020 session

NEW DELHI: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has launched a new programme named Bachelor of Science (Honours) in the Biochemistry discipline from July 2020 session. According to IGNOU officials, the programme will be offered in ODL mode.
The varsity is inviting applications for the programme which is available online. The last date for applying to the course is August 31. This Bachelor of Science (Hons.) programme is designed to provide students an in-depth knowledge about Biochemistry while also giving them an opportunity to explore subjects beyond the discipline.
In order to apply for the course, the aspirants must have passed 10+2 (or equivalent from a recognised board) with science subjects - Biology, Chemistry and Physics. The medium of instruction for the course is English and Hindi.
With a significant number of courses from the discipline of Biochemistry and a few interdisciplinary and skill enhancing courses, this Bachelor of Science Honours programme is designed to give an in-depth knowledge in Biochemistry while giving the learner an opportunity to explore subjects beyond the discipline.
The course duration will be minimum 3 years, while the maximum time to complete it would be 6 years. The complete course fee for 3 years is Rs. 43,500, while annually the candidates have to pay Rs. 14,500. However, in the first year, the candidates have to pay Rs.14,700 (Rs. 14,500 annual fee+Rs. 200 as registration fee).
