IGNOU invites applications for PG diploma in cyber law
IGNOU PG Diploma 2025 will be offered in ODL mode and graduates from any discipline can apply at ignou.ac.in.
NEW DELHI: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has invited applications for its postgraduate (PG) certificate programme in cyber law for the January 2025 admission cycle. The programme is ideal for professionals and graduates, aiming to develop an understanding of cyber law, cybercrime, and legal frameworks governing cyberspace, as per the official statement from the university.
The enrollment for the postgraduate diploma programme in cyber law is now open and aspiring professionals can directly apply through the official website, ignou.ac.in. The programme is offered in the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode and graduates from any discipline are eligible to apply.
On January 8, IGNOU launched a three-year Bachelor of Arts (Vocation studies) Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (BAVMSME) programme for IGNOU admissions 2025.
Sharing the objectives of the pg programme, Gurmeet Kaur, the programme coordinator, IGNOU, said: “This program addresses the fast-changing dynamics of the digital world. It equips professionals with the legal knowledge and skills required to navigate cyberspace confidently and competently.”
Professionals in law, computer science, MNCs, and chartered accountancy, while individuals seeking careers in cyber law research, IT-related roles, or legal advisory positions in organizations are also eligible to apply for the pg diploma programme, the university said.

IGNOU PG Diploma: Objectives, duration, fee
The objectives of the pg diploma program in cyber law are given below.
- Acquire critical knowledge and skills to understand, explore, and deal with challenges in cyber law.
- Learn to address frauds, scams, and cybercrime conducted via the Internet.
- Gain insight into social and intellectual property issues related to cyberspace.
- Study legal and policy frameworks adopted globally to regulate cyberspace.
- Explore the intersection of commerce and cyberspace.
- Understand the IT Act and legal frameworks governing right to privacy, data security, and data protection.
The programme will span for a duration ranging from six months to a maximum of two years. Aspiring professionals have to pay the course fees of Rs 8,400 along with the registration fees of Rs 300.
