IGNOU to accept assignments through email; stops study material supply

NEW DELHI : Keeping in view of the prevailing 21 days nationwide lockdown situation due to Coronavirus outbreak, Indira Gandhi National Open University has asked its students to send the assignments to their respective regional centre through email. The facility is only available for students who are going to appear in IGNOU June 2020 Term End Examinations. The regional centre will only accept the scanned copies of their handwritten assignments by the students. The preventive measure has been taken to contain the spread of COVID 19 pandemic. The university has earlier extended the last date of assignment submission to April 30.
“In view of the complete lockdown to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, the University has decided to facilitate assignment submission by learners through email. Learners can submit scanned copies of handwritten assignments through email to the respective RC email. The Regional Centres will accept scanned copies of handwritten assignments through dedicated email id and take care for further process of evaluation,” states an official release.
Stoppage of Study Material Supply
The Material Production and Distribution Division, IGNOU has advised students to access digital learning resources. The division has temporarily stopped the service of printed study material distribution. Students may refer to the IGNOU eContent App to access digital learning material. The application can be downloaded from Google Play store. To access digital learning resources with the help of a browser, students can refer to IGNOU eGyankosh website.
