ICAI to offer foreign language courses for its members, students

ICAI has launched online foreign languages courses such as Spanish, German, Japanese, Business English and French for its students and members.
NEW DELHI: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is organising online courses in foreign languages such as Spanish, German, Japanese, Business English and French for its students and members through the ICAI Committee for Development of International Trade, Services and WTO.
The foreign language courses are being provided to the ICAI students and members through the language and cultural centres of foreign embassies in India. The ICAI courses in foreign languages have been launched with the objective to help its members and students to work abroad as language skills will be an advantage while working in foreign countries.

According to Debashis Mitra, president of ICAI, learning languages for businesses will add value to the expertise of CA members and students, and serve their international clients better. Dheeraj Kumar Khandelwal, chairman of the Committee for Development of International Trade, Services and WTO says that language programmes will help members and students to expand their career opportunities in other countries. "Learning foreign language is all about learning how to truly communicate and connect with others—an incredibly significant life skill that can only be cultivated by interacting with people," he further said.

Rohit Ruwatia, vice chairman of the Committee thinks that the ICAI foreign language courses will help accounting professionals to work globally by developing relationships that can enable better flexibility and adaptiveness.
