Subscribe NowChandigarh: Haryana Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi on Thursday held a high-level meeting with all deputy commissioners and superintendents of police of the state to review the preparations for the Common Eligibility Test (CET) for the "Group-C" posts recruitment, which is expected to be held next month.
The CS emphasised the need to ensure that the examination is conducted in a free, fair, smooth and transparent manner. According to an official statement, during the meeting, it was informed that around 13,48,697 applications have been received for the CET. In view of the large number of applicants and the scale of the examination, the Haryana Staff Selection Commission has proposed to hold the examination over a span of two to three days.
Identifying exam centres for CET
Rastogi directed all deputy commissioners to begin the process of identifying suitable examination centres in their respective districts within the next three days and emphasised that centres should be chosen keeping in mind security, logistics, transportation accessibility, and capacity to accommodate candidates. He directed the deputy commissioners to get all these centres inspected by senior officers of police and civil administrations.
Notably, the Haryana government had earlier introduced a policy for recruitment to Group C and D posts through the CET. The CS reiterated the government's commitment to uphold the integrity of the recruitment process, and stressed that no lapses or irregularities would be tolerated. HSSC chairman Himmat Singh said a detailed SOP has been shared with all deputy commissioners regarding selection of exam centres.
