IIT Guwahati introduces GATE 2026 two-paper combination list

GATE 2026: Candidates planning to appear for two tests should choose their second paper from the given combinations only, or else their registration will not be accepted.

Download NowIndian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has introduced the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026 two-paper combination list, allowing candidates to choose the second paper as per preference. Candidates willing to appear in GATE 2026 two papers must choose their primary and second test paper from the newly introduced combinations only.
GATE 2026 test papers will be in English. The exam is scheduled on February 7, 8, 14, and 15 in two shifts. Eligible candidates can apply for GATE 2026 on the official website, gate2026.iitg.ac.in, from August 25 onwards.
Candidates who choose a paper other than those given in the list will not be allowed to register. IIT Guwahati may open up additional two-paper combinations at a later date, subject to the availability of infrastructure and scheduling feasibility.

Furthermore, the exam centre of the second paper might be different, but in the same city as the first paper, due to infrastructure and date schedule constraints. IIT Guwahati may also remove any combination list, and the fees paid by the candidates for the second paper will be refunded to the candidates.
IIT Guwahati has also introduced a new sectional paper on Energy Science (XE-1) in the engineering science (XE) paper. GATE 2026 is conducted for a total of 30 test papers comprising full and sectional papers.
