GATE 2026 Admit Card LIVE: IIT Guwahati defers hall ticket release; MTech, MS aspirants await new date

Download NowThe Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has postponed the release of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2026) admit card due to unknown reasons. Candidates will be able to download the GATE admit card 2026 using their enrollment number and password through the official website at gate2026.iitg.ac.in.
The institute has not yet announced the new GATE admit card release date 2026. Earlier, the GATE 2026 exam hall ticket was supposed to be published on January 2.
"The release date of the GATE 2026 admit card has been postponed. The revised release date will be announced soon," the institute said.
IIT Guwahati will hold GATE 2026 exams on February 7, 8, 14 and 15 in two shifts; forenoon shift from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, and the afternoon shift will take place from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
Candidates have to carry the GATE exam admit card and a valid photo ID on the exam day for verification purposes. GATE admit card 2026 will include details such as the candidate’s name, enrollment ID, exam centre, exam date and time, paper code, category and other details.
GATE Admit Card 2026: How to download?
The steps to download the GATE admit card 2026 are as follows.
- Visit the official website, gate2026.iitg.ac.in
- Click on the “GATE admit card 2026” download link available.
- Enter the required details.
- Click on the link for the GATE hall ticket 2026 download.
- Your GATE hall ticket will be downloaded in PDF format.
- Save the GATE admit card and take a printout for future use.
IIT Guwahati has also introduced a new sectional paper on Energy Science (XE-1) in the engineering science (XE) paper. The GATE question paper for the aptitude test will include 30 papers with full and sectional papers.
The GATE 2026 exam is held for admission to MTech, MS, and PhD programmes at IITs, National Institute of Technology (NITs), and Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT). GATE 2026 scores will remain valid for a period of 3 years from the date of result declaration. GATE scores are also used for recruitment to Pubic Section Undertakings (PSUs).
