Download NowNEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar, which will offer admission to its MTech programmes through the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025, saw a major drop in GATE cut-offs last year. GATE exam 2025 is being held on February 15 and 16.
IIT Ropar offers 14 postgraduate programmes in engineering. The institute introduced MTech in Materials Engineering in the last academic session. The admissions will be through the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP). According to the IIT Ropar MTech fee structure, students will be required to pay Rs 1,12,710 (Rs 77,860 for SC, ST, PwD candidates).
Who is eligible for IIT Ropar MTech?
- According to the eligibility criteria, candidates who qualify GATE 2025 and satisfy any one of the following conditions are eligible for MTech admissions:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology (BE or BTech) or in an appropriate area from educational institutions approved by the government.
- Master’s degree in science or computer application or equivalent in the appropriate area.
- An IIT graduate or graduating from IITs with BTech degree and having an 8 CGPA on a scale of 10 (7.5 CGPA for SC, ST, PD candidates) can apply without a GATE score.
