GATE 2025 Civil Engineering exam on Feb 16; previous years' question papers, high weightage CE topics

Download NowNEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee will conduct the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 on February 1, 2, 15, and 16. The GATE 2025 admit card was issued on January 7. Registered candidates can access and download the GATE admit card 2025 by visiting the official website, gate2025.iitr.ac.in.
The GATE 2025 Civil Engineering (CE) paper is held for admission to MTech programmes at IITs and NITs , recruitment in PSUs , and career opportunities in research and higher studies. The GATE 2025 Civil Engineering exam is scheduled on February 16.
The GATE exam 2025 will be held in two shifts each day. As per the GATE 2025 exam timings, forenoon session will be held from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm (IST) and afternoon shift from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. The GATE 2025 result date is March 19. The GATE 2025 scorecards will be available for downloading from March 28 to May 31.

GATE 2025 Civil Engineering paper pattern
The duration of the GATE 2025 Civil Engineering paper is 3 hours. The GATE 2025 CE paper includes a total of 65 questions. The GATE 2025 civil engineering paper carries 100 marks.
The GATE exam 2025 for civil engineering paper will have three types of questions- Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions. There will be no negative marking for wrong answer in MSQ and NAT. However, for 1-mark MCQ, 1/3 mark will be deducted for wrong answer. In case of 2-mark MCQ, 2/3 mark will be deducted for each incorrect response.
GATE 2025 CE Paper: Weightage distribution
The GATE 2025 Civil Enginnering paper will include two sections General Aptitude (10 questions) and Civil Engineering subject specific (55 questions). In the GATE 2025 question paper, subject-specific questions have been given 72% weightage. On the other hand, Engineering Mathematics section has been given 13% and General Aptitude gets 15% weightage.
