Hijab Dignity March: Slogans were raised against the RSS, governor, for protection of rights
NEW DELHI: Fraternity Movement-led "hijab dignity march" to Kerala Raj Bhavan was attended by thousands of students and youth. The march started from the Martyrs' Hall and proceeded through the museum to the Raj Bhavan.
Kerala Police resisted the march by using barricades in front of the Raj Bhavan and firing water cannons several times as they tried to cross and break the barricade. During the march, slogans were raised against the RSS, the Kerala governor and for the protection of individual rights.

“The State actions which restrict the fundamental rights and educational rights of Muslim students are a continuation of the anti-Muslim hate campaigns carried out by the Sangh Parivar. Ban on the hijab in Karnataka is part of this,” said K Muralidharan, Congress MP from Kerala during the inauguration of the march.
KA Shafiq, state general secretary of the Welfare Party while addressing the march said that the Fraternity Movement will hold protests against the hijab ban. According to him, the ban on hijab in SPC in Kerala is part of the Hindutva agenda of the government. He said that the Kerala government’s decision would fuel the hijab ban across many states.
