Education ministry, IIT Kanpur launch SATHEE to help JEE, NEET, other competitive exam aspirants

try now testNEW DELHI: The ministry of education and Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) announced an innovative online education platform, Self-Assessment Test and Help for Entrance Exams (SATHEE), to help students preparing for competitive exams. The initiative was taken in line with the National Education Policy (NEP 2020) and to achieve sustainable development goals.

SATHEE offers video lectures from faculties of IITs and IISc for National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) and Joint Entrance Examinations (JEE) aspirants. “The platform has commenced with its first 45-day JEE crash course, designed to provide intensive preparation and revision in a short period, ideal for students looking to consolidate their learning before exams,” the ministry said.
The platform will also be offered in English, Hindi and various regional languages to help students overcome language barriers.

The platform was unveiled by K Sanjay Murthy, secretary of Department of Higher Education, ministry of education, in an event at Shastri Bhawan. S Ganesh, officiating director of IIT Kanpur; Govind Jaiswal, joint secretary of education ministry; Sanjay Kumar, secretary of school education, ministry of education; Amey Karkare, principal investigator, SATHEE project.
The platform will also host a series of intensive, expert-designed learning modules along with novel features like an interactive chatbot. It will also organise regular doubt-clearing sessions led by students from IITs and AIIMS.
"The outreach of SATHEE marks a significant step towards enhancing accessibility to education in India. This platform opens up new avenues for students preparing for competitive exams, offering quality resources and support. Our goal is to ensure that every student, irrespective of their location or financial situation, has the opportunity to excel in their academic pursuits. SATHEE is a testament to our commitment to educational equity and excellence," S Ganesh said.
