NEW DELHI: Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan will launch the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) for Foundational Stage 2022 and Balvatika today, October 20.
Dharmendra Pradhan will be launching NCF at Rang Bhawan, All India Radio, at 11 AM today. Ministers of State (MoS) for Education, Annpurna Devi, Subhas Sarkar, Rajkumar Ranjan Singh will also be present on the occasion.
The National Curriculum Framework aims to develop the education system in India by implementing National Education Policy (NEP 2020) across schools in the country. The education minister launched the NCF mandate document on April 29, 2022, and said that it is a step towards decolonisation of the Indian education system.
“The new curriculum will focus on holistic development of children, emphasis on skilling, vital role of teachers, learning in mother tongue, cultural rootedness,” he had said.

The ministry of education had earlier said, “NCF includes the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCFSE), the National Curriculum Framework for Early Childhood Care and Education (NCFECCE), the National Curriculum Framework for Teacher Education (NCFTE), and the National Curriculum Framework for Adult Education (NCFAE).”
In August, the ministry held an inter-ministerial meeting for seeking inputs for reconfiguring curricular and pedagogical structure under the NCF. The meeting focused on how ministries and organisations can contribute in developing a curriculum framework. The education minister had also urged citizens to participate in the citizen survey for developing a new curriculum.
