Download NowNEW DELHI: The University of Delhi has launched its Undergraduate (UG) admission policy for the academic session 2024-25. The university has launched the UG admission portal “Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS)”, marking the beginning of the first phase of undergraduate admissions. In addition, the NCWEB and School of Open Learning (SOL) admission policies were also announced today, May 28. According to DU registrar Vikas Gupta, the university will enroll single-child girl students in all courses this year as supernumerary seats.
As per the eligibility requirements in concerned, candidates are required to appear in Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG)-2024 in the disciplines in which they are appearing or have passed Class 12. The official brochure read, "For the purpose of ascertaining program specific eligibility and for mapping the CUET subject(s) with Class XII subject(s), marksheet of more than one recognized board may be considered provided the candidate has passed those subjects in Class 12"

The DU offers 79 undergraduate programs and 183 BA program combinations across its 69 colleges. These colleges offer approximately 71,000 seats. About 1500 unique program + college combinations are offered by the University of Delhi.

DU UG 2024: Registration in two phases
The CSAS (UG) registration process is split into two phases. The initial phase, which commenced today, May 28 involves a registration procedure where candidates interested in admission need to input their personal information along with their Class XII academic scores.
The next stage of the CSAS (UG) process will begin upon the announcement of the CUET (UG) results. To participate in this stage, candidates must access their CSAS dashboard and finalize their preference-filling. During this phase, candidates are required to map the subjects they studied in Class 12 with those they took in the CUET (UG) exam.
As per the CSAS guidelines, the University will release simulated ranks once the preference-filling phase concludes, using the available data. Candidates will have the opportunity to edit their preferences based on these Simulated Ranks, including adding, removing, or rearranging their choices. However, after this stage, no further modifications to preferences will be permitted.
DU UG Admission 2024: Tie-breaking criteria
The tie breaker rules for DU UG 2024 admission will be implemented as follows: prioritizing those with a higher percentage of aggregate marks in the top three subjects of Class 12, followed by the aggregate marks in the best four subjects, then the best five subjects of Class 12. Finally, the age of the candidate will be considered.
