DU Admissions 2026: CUET PG scores mandatory; one-year courses only for Delhi University’s FYUP holders

Download NowThe University of Delhi has announced the admission criteria for two-year postgraduate programmes and confirmed that all selection will be based on the Common University Entrance Test - PG (CUET PG 2026) scores. The final selection will be carried out through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) after the CUET PG results are declared.
The university has not notified any dates for DU PG admissions 2026; however, it said candidates seeking admission to its two-year PG programmes across UoD departments, colleges, and Non-Collegiate Women Education Board (NCWEB) must appear for the CUET PG.
One-year PG programmes will be offered only to students who have completed a four-year bachelor’s degree under the National Education Policy (NEP) from Delhi University. Students who studied four-year bachelor’s courses from other states or universities will not be eligible.
What changes in CUET PG 2026?
The National Testing Agency (NTA) recently opened the CUET PG registration portal for the upcoming academic year. Candidates will be allowed to submit their application forms by January 14 on exams.nta.nic.in/cuet-pg/.
Over 6 lakh candidates appeared for the CUET PG exam and around 70,000 students applied for DU PG admissions last year.
The CUET PG exam date 2026 is yet to be announced. However, the NTA said that the national-level college entrance exam will be conducted for 157 subject papers as a computer-based test (CBT). The number of exam cities has been reduced from 312 to 292, while the number of choices was first reduced to two and later increased to four.
DU PG Admission 2026: Eligibility
Delhi University has over 6.5 lakh students enrolled in 16 faculties, 86 departments, and 91 colleges.
- Candidates belonging to unreserved (UR), OBC-NCL, and EWS categories will have to score a minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying exam, and SC, ST, and PwBD candidates require at least 45% marks.
- The DU PG merit list will be based solely on CUET PG scores, except for programmes where audition, practical, sports proficiency test are mandatory.
- Candidates in their final year or awaiting results are also eligible to appear for CUET PG 2026 exam, provided they meet the eligibility criteria at the time of admission.
- 10% supernumerary seats in each programme are reserved for foreign nationals. Eligible candidates under this category should apply through the Foreign Students’ Registry (FSR) portal.
- There is no upper age limit for DU PG admissions 2026 .
