Dharmendra Pradhan launches portal for selection of PM SHRI schools

Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan asked all state governments to apply on the official portal – pmshrischools.education.gov.in.
NEW DELHI : Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan today launched the portal for selection of Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India, PM SHRI schools – pmshrischools.education.gov.in. The state governments will be able to apply on the portal for selection of schools to be upgraded as PM SHRI schools.
While giving out information about the portal, Pradhan said that it is envisaged that two schools from each development block can be included in the PM SHRI scheme. Schools will be selected on the basis of challenge route and challenge methodology. The process will be transparent, he said.
Yet another step towards the implementation of #NEP2020 !

The education minister urged all state governments to apply on the portal and further informed that all government schools, Kendriya Vidyalayas, and Navodaya Vidyalayas can be the applicant.
On September 7, the union cabinet approved a budget of Rs 27,360 crore to upgrade PM SHRI schools.

On the occasion of Teachers' Day 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that 14,500 schools across India will be developed and upgraded under the PM SHRI scheme.
Explaining the structure of these schools, he said, “The PM-SHRI schools will have a modern, transformational and holistic method of imparting education. Emphasis will be on a discovery oriented, learning centric way of teaching. Focus will also be on modern infra including latest technology, smart classrooms, sports and more.”
