Delhi University rises to 601-800 band in THE World University Rankings 2026
The university’s upward trends in teaching, research environment, research quality, industry engagement, and international outlook paved the way for the improved rankings.

Download NowIn a major achievement, the University of Delhi (UoD) has improved its position in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2026. The university has moved from last year’s 801-1000 bracket to 601-800 band in 2025.
The university’s upward trends in teaching, research environment, research quality, industry engagement, and international outlook paved the way for the enhanced ranking meters, as per the official statement.
The advancement also reflects DU’s commitment to academic delivery, research excellence, and international collaboration.
Giving credits over the achievement, Yogesh Singh, vice-chancellor, University of Delhi, said: “These consistent gains reaffirm the dedication and collective effort of our faculty, students, staff, alumni, and stakeholders toward academic distinction and global relevance.”

The improvement in the ranking also gives credit to enhanced research productivity, focus on quality and impact, and stronger global partnerships have contributed to these positive outcomes, reinforcing DU’s reputation as one of India’s leading higher education institutions, the statement reads.
“The University of Delhi acknowledges the contribution of its faculty, researchers, and students whose commitment continues to drive its upward journey in international rankings,” the university said.
