DU VC dismissed the speculations that the university might opt out of CUET and said the new common entrance exam has led to greater diversity and fairness in admission.
"We are very satisfied with the performance of students coming through CUET. There is no issue, no question of opting out," he said during an interview, the PTI reported.

The university announced that it will opt for the CUET exam for admission to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses from its inception in 2022. For the last couple of years, the classes for the new batch started on August 16, delaying the academic cycle.
The VC had also acknowledged the delay and said in July 2024: "The CUET result has not been announced, but it will impact the academic calendar for the students of the first semester. The classes will likely begin from August 16."
Despite the challenges, DU has decided to offer admissions based on the score obtained in CUET 2025. In the latest update, the university has removed 5 subjects from the DU CUET subject combination list . These are legal studies, engineering graphics, teacher training, entrepreneurship, and knowledge traditions and practices of India.
