CUET UG 2022: 65,000 complaints over exams; highest attendance from UP, says Govt

Try NowNEW DELHI: The debut edition of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET 2022) for undergraduate (UG) admission in central universities and participating private universities was marred by glitches, delays and last-minute exam centre change. A maximum of 65,000 complaints were received by the NTA, the education ministry told the Rajya Sabha.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) held the CUET UG 2022 exam between July to September. In a written reply, minister of state for education Subhas Sarkar said, the NTA had received majority of 47,835 grievances for rescheduling the date or centre of CUET UG examination, and “all such requests were considered and appropriate actions were taken”.
The NTA created a separate e-mail ID to address the grievances at a later stage. “Disruptions were reported by 17,460 (1.1 %) candidates out of 14.9 lakh candidates,” the minister informed.
The ministry also shared the state-wise number of candidates who appeared in the CUET 2022 exam. Uttar Pradesh had the highest number of turnout with 2,92,589 students, followed by Delhi with 1,86,405 students appearing for CUET 2022, according to the government data.

With 14.9 lakh registrations, CUET UG 2022 became the second-largest national level entrance exam surpassing the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE Main). While the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG 2022) remains the single-largest entrance exam. Approximately 8,10,000 candidates were allotted in the first slot and 6,80,000 candidates in the second slot. A total of 9,25,142 candidates appeared, the ministry said.
CUET UG, PG 2023 exam dates
The second edition of the CUET UG 2023 exam will be held from May 21 to 31, 2023. The CUET 2023 application process will start in the first week of February 2023, the University Grants Commission (UGC) announced.
CUET PG 2023 exams are expected to be scheduled in the first or second week of June. Candidates who wish to appear will be able to know the CUET PG exam dates, application form release date this week, the UGC chairman M Jagadesh Kumar told earlier.
