Try NowUttar Pradesh and Delhi have been home to the maximum number of candidates taking the Common University Entrance Test - Undergraduate (CUET UG) for years, highlighting the high student population, awareness amongst aspirants, proximity to and preference for top central universities, and better access to coaching centres and online resources. The National Testing Agency (NTA) declared the CUET UG result 2025 today for 10.71 lakh candidates. CUET UG 2025 result (out) live updates .
While the testing agency has not shared the state-wise CUET result 2025 data, an analysis of the previous years shows that Bihar, Jharkhand, and Haryana closely follow the top two states, reflecting the growing trend for top university admissions amongst Hindi-speaking states.
Southern states such as Maharashtra and Karnataka comparatively show lesser interest, possibly due to preference for state universities. Interestingly, Kerala, which used to churn out a large pool of students applying and securing admissions to popular central universities such as University of Delhi, has been recording higher applications but lower attendance. The reason could be that more students tend to walk on engineering and medical paths, keeping CUET as a backup plan. Additionally, there might be a language barrier and curriculum gap .

Among the Union Territories (UTs), very less number of candidates have been showing up from Lakshadweep, obviously because of the tiny population, but also maybe due to limited access to the examination centres and lack of awareness, it being a remote island.
