CUCET 2022: Jamia Millia Islamia decides to hold CUET for 8 selected courses only

NEW DELHI: Jamia Millia Islamia University (JMI) has decided to hold Common University Entrance Test (CUET 2022) only for eight selected courses. The JMI admissions for the remaining courses will be held as per earlier practice, the university decided in a meeting held today by the committee constituted to decide on CUCET.
Jamia Millia Islamia conducts JMI entrance exam every year for candidates to take admission in undergraduate admissions. Candidates who qualify JMI entrance exam will have to appear for the JMI Counselling after the result declaration to get admission in the university.

"It has been decided in a meeting attended by the top officials of the university that admissions for selected undergraduate courses will be done through CUET. The university has communicated to the University Grants Commission (UGC) and National Testing Agency (NTA) about the same," the university said.
It further advised students to follow university websites jmi.ac.in and jmicoe.in for updates regarding courses and other details. Students who are interested in applying for those courses will have to fill online forms of CUET as well as JMI.
JMI admission 2022 through CUCET
JMI will hold CUCET 2022 for the following eight undergraduate courses. Students can check the list of courses and eligibility criteria in the table given below.

They should have, however, secured 50% and should have studied physics and mathematics |
As per past practice the university will admit students in BTech programme on the basis of score in JEE and admission in BDS programme will be done on the basis of score in NEET. BTech aspirants are required to fill JEE form as well as JMI
Like Aligarh Muslim University, the JMI is a minority institution that has reserved 30% seats for Muslim students, 10% each for Muslim women students and Muslims belonging to other backward category (OBC). It also has reserved 5% seats for students who have passed out from Jamia schools.
The UGC and NTA released the official CUCET notification today, March 27, on the official website cuet.samarth.ac.in and nta.ac.in. The NTA will be conducting CUCET 2022 for the 45 central universities. However, the UGC had informed that these universities will have the option to choose the admission process.
UGC chairman M Jagadesh Kumar had on Sunday said that the central universities can fix their minimum eligibility criteria. He further said that state universities , private universities, and deemed-to-be universities can also use CUET scores for undergraduate and postgraduate admissions if they want.
