CTET February 2026: CBSE begins registration for Class 1-8 teacher recruitment in central govt schools

Check Now testThe Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has started the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) February 2026 registrations today. Eligible candidates can register for the eligibility examination through the official website at ctet.nic.in. CTET 2026 LIVE.
The CBSE will close the CTET 2026 application window on December 18 and the exam will be conducted on February 8. The school teacher eligibility test will be held in dual shifts.
The morning session will take place from 9:30 am to 12 noon, while the afternoon session will be held from 2:30 pm to 5 pm.
The CTET is a national-level exam to assess candidates for teaching positions for Classes 1 to 8 in central government schools such as Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas and other schools accepting CTET scores.

CTET February 2026: Application fee, documents format
General, Other Backward Classes (OBC), Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) category candidates need to pay Rs 1,000 to appear in CTET 2026 for paper 1, while they should have to pay Rs 1,200 for appearing in paper 1 and 2 both.
Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and differently abled person category should have to par Rs 500 for paper 1 and Rs 600 for appearing in paper 1 and 2 both.
Eligible candidates are required to upload their scanned images of latest photograph and signature in JPEG, JPG format along with the CTET 2026 application form.
The scanned photo and signature should be between 10 to 100 KB. The image dimension of photograph should be 3.5 cm (width) x 4.5 cm (height). The size of the scanned signature should be between 3 KB to 30 KB.
While the image dimension of signature should be 3.5 cm (length) x 1.5 cm (height).
