Covid-19: Over a dozen IIM Udaipur students test positive, says report

NEW DELHI: About 15 students of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Udaipur tested Coronavirus positive on Friday among the 521 samples that were tested. Out of the 15 students who tested covid positive, 13 were asymptomatic and two had mild symptoms, reported the Times of India.
The infected students are isolated and the IIM Udaipur campus is completely following all Covid-19 protocols and guidelines issued by the government.

"IIMU had sent 521 samples for Ccovid testing on Thursday. 15 test results came out positive. The infected students are under quarantine and the IIM Udaipur campus has taken all required preventive measures to limit further spread and fatality. Classes and exams of the institute are being conducted in virtual mode," Janat Shah, director of IIM-Udaipur told the TOI.
"The IIM campus is functioning with half of the staff capacity, and we strictly follow the covid guidelines issued by the government. We are also cooperating with the Udaipur administration for maintaining safety," Shah told TOI.

In a similar incident, IIM Calcutta covid cases increased with over 50 students testing covid positive, according to various media reports. The administration asked students who reside outside the containment zones to leave the campus by January 9.
Covid cases were also reported in the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati and IIT Kharagpur.
