COVID-19: Maharashtra’s Shivaji University postpones exams

Exams postponed: Shivaji University postoperative exams the night before they were to begin due to COVID-19.
NEW DELHI: Just one day before their start, Shivaji University, Kolhapur has postponed examinations for all courses. Examinations were to commence from April 6 for all undergraduate and postgraduate level courses of the university and its affiliated colleges.
As per the circular issued by the Shivaji University on the night of April 5, the dates to postpone examinations are being announced as per the instructions of the District Disaster Management Authority. Maharashtra is the worst affected state with the maximum number of COVID-19 cases being reported from the state every day.
Several institutions across the country have been compelled to postpone examinations due to the latest spurt in cases of COVID-19. These include Osmania University and University of Hyderabad in Telangana which took the step on the order of the state government. Several others, including Banaras Hindu University and Indian Institute of Technology Delhi have halted the return of students to the campuses.
“All the examinations of all the courses of Shivaji University from the period of April 06, 2021 to April 12, 2021 are being postponed,” reads the circular.
