CMAT 2026 registration begins; NTA announces eligibility, fees, application process

Download EBookThe National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the registration process for the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT 2026) today. Candidates seeking admission to management programmes in AICTE-affiliated institutions have to register for the CMAT 2025 exam.
The CMAT exam date 2026 is yet to be announced. The application form is now available on the official website, cmat.nta.nic.in and nta.ac.in. Candidates will have to register by November 17, while the online payment facility will remain open till November 18.
The national-level entrance exam will be conducted as a computer-based test (CBT) to select graduates for admission to management courses in participating universities.
The CMAT 2026 question paper will assess candidates’ quantitative technique and data interpretation, logical reasoning, language comprehension, general awareness and innovation and entrepreneurship. There will be a total of 100 questions carrying 800 marks.
Male candidates belonging to general category will have to pay Rs 2,500 and female candidates will have to deposit Rs 1,250. Gen-EWS, SC, ST, PwD, and third gender are also required to pay Rs 1,250 as application fee.
CMAT 2026: Eligibility
Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria will be allowed to appear in the CMAT 2026 exam.
- Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
- Candidates in the final year of bachelor’s, whose result will be declared before commencement of admission for academic year 2026-27, can also apply for CMAT-2026.
- Candidates should be a citizen of India.
- No age limit has been prescribed for CMAT- 2026.
Last year, 74,012 candidates registered for the exam , of which 63,145 appeared in the exam, recording an overall attendance of 85.32%.

How to apply for CMAT 2026?
Candidates can follow the steps given below to fill out the CMAT 2026 online application form.
- Visit the CMAT 2026 official website, cmat.nta.nic.in, to register for the exam.
- Read the instructions given and click on ‘proceed to fill application form’.
- After filling the personal details, generate a password using all required characters.
- Now, enter academic and eligibility details in the form.
- Upload scanned images of photograph, signature, disability certificate, UDID card and scribe certificate.
- The photograph should be uploaded with 80% face visible including ears against white background. It should be in jpg or jpeg format of size between 10kb to 200kb.
- Signature should be in jpg, jpeg format between 10kb to 50 kb.
- Disability and scribe certificates can be 50kb to 300kb.
- Now, proceed to make fee payment through online mode.
- Review the details entered and submit the application form.
