The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) first provisional allotment list 2026 has been made public by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) today, i.e. January 7, 2026, at consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Candidates have to use their login credentials to access the CLAT first seat allotment list and apply for their desired courses.

The names of the applicants and their designated NLUs will be included in the CLAT first merit list. The CLAT 2026 cut-off for round 1 is expected to be highly competitive, particularly for the top NLUs.

How to download the CLAT 2026 seat allotment list?

Candidates can download the CLAT 2026 seat allotment result by following the steps given below:

  • Visit the official website of the NLU consortium and log in with required credentials.
  • Candidates can click on the first allotment list on the CLAT 2026 official portal.
  • After tapping the link to the CLAT 2026 seat allotment list will show up on the screen.
  • After downloading the CLAT first seat allotment list, applicants can verify their seat assignment for the course for which they have applied.

CLAT First Seat Allotment 2026: Freeze, Float and Exit

Candidates have to use their login account to access the sequence of CLAT 2026 seat allotment. Furthermore, Freeze, Float, and Exit choices will be made available to candidates for selecting their desired university, which are as follows:

  • Freeze: The candidate confirms their seat after accepting the assigned NLU and course. They are not allowed to take part in any more rounds.
  • Float: The candidate wants to be considered for a higher-preferred NLU or course in the following round, but they accept the current seat.
  • Exit: The candidate leaves the entire procedure since they do not want to participate in the CLAT 2026 counselling rounds.
