CLAT 2021 will be conducted on July 23, 2021, in more than 80 cities across the country. The exam will be conducted with all safety measures in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court has today refused to postpone Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2021 and directed the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) to follow all safety measures while conducting the exam on July 23, 2021. The court has also asked the authorities not to insist on students taking COVID vaccines, reported Live Law.
A plea was filed before the SC seeking either a deferment of CLAT 2021 in view of COVID-19 situation or to have an alternative method for conducting the examination. It challenged the June 14 notification of CLAT 2021 which was related to an advisory to students to get vaccinated before the examination.
While the CLAT 2021 will be conducted as per the given schedule, the provision of vaccination will not be mandatory for candidates appearing in the examination. The consortium has also released the exam day guidelines to be followed by the candidates.
CLAT 2021 will be conducted in offline mode, in more than 80 cities across the country. It is conducted for admission to 5-year LLB and LLM programmes offered by 22 national law universities and several other affiliated law schools in the country.
The NLU Consortium has also released the admit card for CLAT 2021 on July 15, 2021. It may be noted that the consortium has changed CLAT 2021 Bhubaneswar exam centres due to unavoidable circumstances. Admit cards for such candidates will be reissued. Candidates may download the admit card by logging into their registered accounts.
In related news, the National Law University, Delhi has also released the admit card for the All India Entrance Test (AILET) which will be conducted for admission to BA LLB, LLM and PhD programmes, on July 30, 2021.
