The Central Information Commission asked the PIO to submit the report within 30 days for not attending the hearing and misconduct.
NEW DELHI: The Central Information Commission (CIC) has advised the National Medical Commission (NMC) to upload infrastructure and related assessment reports of medical colleges on its official website, nmc.org.in.
The Medical Council of India (MCI) was scrapped on September 25, 2020 and replaced with NMC. Earlier, the MCI used to upload medical college assessment reports every year. However, after the NMC took over, the previous assessment reports on the MCI website were removed, a complaint filed by Mohamed Khader Meeran AS read.
The complainant also said that the NMC was not uploading the reports for the current academic year and sought details on policy taken by the commission to not disclose assessment reports on the website, if any.
On June 13, 2022, Center Public Information Officers (CPIO) refused to furnish the details and said that “the information sought is very voluminous and scattered”.

Dissatisfied with the response, the complainant filed a complaint once again. “Commission takes very strong exception of non-attendance of PIO during the hearing of Second Appeal. PIO is hereby directed to file a written explanation justifying the said conduct, failing which an action under Section 20(1) and 20(2) of the RTI Act will be initiated against him/her, if necessary,” the CIC order read.
It also asked the PIO to submit the report within 30 days for not attending the hearing and misconduct.
Further, the commission asked the NMC to upload medical college assessment reports for the current academic years on their website.
