CBSE Direct Recruitment 2026: Registration opens for assistant professor, director posts; apply by December 22
The application and procession fee for unreserved, OBC, and EWS category candidates, applying for group A posts is Rs 1,750, while the fee for group B and C is Rs 1,050 each.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has opened registrations for assistant professor, assistant director and various other posts through Direct Recruitment Quota Examination 2026 (DRQ2026). Applicants can register for All India Competitive Examination through the official website at cbse.gov.in.
The board will close the online application window for CBSE recruitment drive on December 22, 2025.
“No other means/mode of submission of applications will be accepted. The selected candidates may be posted in any of the CBSE offices. The number of vacancies advertised is tentative and may increase or decrease,” according to the official notice by the board.
The application and procession fee for unreserved, Other Backward Classes (OBC), and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category candidates, applying for group A posts is Rs 1,750, while for group B and C posts, the charges are Rs 1,050 each.
Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD), ex-servicement, women are not required to pay application fee. However, the processing fee charges will be Rs 250 for Group A, B and C posts.
Notably, the payment should be made through online mode such as debit cards (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), credit cards (except Rupay CC on UPI, PPI Wallet and Credit Line), internet banking and UPI. The last date to pay the application and processing fee is December 22.

All India Competitive Examination 2026: Total posts, selection process
The selection procedure includes a written examination, including multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and descriptive questions, followed by an interview and a skill test.
Candidates should have to obtain at least 30% marks in any tier of examination to be eligible for the next round of selection.
As per the marking scheme, in tier 1, candidates will be awarded three marks for each correct answer, while one mark will be deducted for every wrong response. No marks will be given for unanswered questions. There is only one correct response for each question.
Filling up or darkening more than one response in any question will be treated as wrong response and one mark will be deducted. Here is the table given below which includes total vacancies category-wise for each posts.
