Download EBookNEW DELHI : Central Board of Secondary Education has received several requests regarding cancellation of the CBSE Board compartment exams 2020. The Board has not taken the final decision in regard to this yet. CBSE Class 10 and 12 compartment exams 2020 are usually conducted in July but this year it has been delayed due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Earlier, a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed in the Supreme Court seeking the cancellation of CBSE Compartment exams 2020 and passing students provisionally.
However, CBSE has released the official notification which says “Competent Authority of the CBSE has considered the representation appropriately in view of above said information and is of the opinion that in case the Compartment examination is not conducted, future of large number of candidates will be adversely affected being the Classes X and XII. Accordingly, requests received in the form of representation for not holding the examination cannot be acceded by the CBSE”.

CBSE Board has further clarified in view of the request of students applying for the higher studies in institutions and schools without CBSE Compartment Exams 2020, “The request is against the Examination By-Laws and also does not fall under the ambit of CBSE”.
The notification also added that the students whose result has been declared as per the assessment scheme will be allowed to appear for the optional examination for improving their marks. They must note that the marks secured in the optional exams will be considered as the final one.
