CBSE announces STEM education as annual training theme for 2025

Download EBookNEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced ‘STEM education’ as its annual training theme for 2025. The CBSE chairman, Rahul Singh highlighted the role of STEM education in equipping students with critical thinking, problem-solving, and innovation skills essential for a technology-driven future.

Every year, CBSE decides a specific theme for training programmes, and this year it is 'STEM education' which aims to improve teaching methodologies in science, engineering, technology and related fields.
The board has issued the CBSE Class 10, 12 admit card 2025 for both regular, private students on its Pariksha Sangam portal. As per CBSE date sheet 2025 , Class 10, 12 board exams will begin from February 15. CBSE is also conducting free psycho-social counselling for students to support them during their board exams. The CBSE counselling sessions are scheduled till April 4, 2025.
Capacity building programmes on STEM Education
In line with the annual theme ‘STEM Education’, CBSE will conduct specialised Capacity Building Programmes (CBPs) to help educators integrate STEM-focused teaching strategies into classrooms. These CBPs will run alongside regular teacher training programmes, as per CBSE official notice. The CBSE has commenced the CBPs with the launch of 3030 Eklavya STEM education online series.
3030 Eklavya STEM education online series
To further promote STEM education, CBSE has introduced the 3030 Eklavya STEM education online series in collaboration with IIT Gandhinagar. The 3030 Eklavya STEM education allows subject teachers to earn up to 30 hours of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) training upon completing all 10 sessions.
The 3030 Eklavya STEM education programme includes hands-on STEM activities, engaging questions and assignments designed to enhance conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving. Interested participants can register for 3030 Eklavya STEM education online series by visiting the official website, eklavya.iitgandhinagar.ac.in.
3030 Eklavya STEM Education Online Series: Episode dates
The first episode was on January 26 and the upcoming episodes are scheduled on February 9, 16 and 23. The programme consists of 10 sessions, each including lectures, homework, projects, and assignments, which together equate to 3 hours of CPD training per session. The sessions will be streamed live every Sunday at 4 pm. Sessions will also be available on the CCL YouTube channel.
3030 Eklavya STEM Education: Types of certificates
Participants can obtain the following certification upon completing the 3030 Eklavya STEM education programme:
- Participation certificate (Rs 200 + taxes)
- Certificate of competency or teacher training (Rs 200 + taxes)
