CBSE announces international letter-writing competition; Rs 50,000 cash prize

CBSE: The top three winners will receive a cash prize and a certificate, and the best entry at the national level shall qualify for the international competition.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has invited students to participate in the Universal Postal Union (UPU) 2026 international letter-writing competition. The first winner will receive a cash prize of Rs 50,000 and a certificate. The best entry at the national level shall qualify for the international level competition.
The theme of the competition is – Write a letter to a friend about why human connection matters in a digital world. The schools will have to organise competitions by March 20, and all the evaluations of the best three should reach the directorate by March 31.
According to the official CBSE notice, the coordinating committee International Bureau (IB) of the UPU will select three prize winners from among the best entries received from each member country. The winners will be awarded Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals, along with certificates and other prizes as decided by the UPU.
Additionally, the Gold medalist will also be offered a visit to the UPU Headquarters in Berne, Switzerland, or an alternative prize at the discretion of the UPU. The best entry at the national level will qualify as the official Indian entry for the UPU-level international competition.

CBSE’s international letter-writing competition
Participants between the ages of 9 and 15 years can participate. All students will receive a certificate along with cash prizes. The prize at the circle and national level is given below.
