BSER REET 2025 exam in second week of January; new passing marks, fifth option introduced

NEW DELHI: The Board of Secondary Education Rajasthan (BSER) will conduct the Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers (REET) 2025 in the second week of January 2025. The information was shared following a meeting held in Shiksha Sankul, chaired by the administrative secretary of school education, Krishna Kunal.

The board announced that it has decided to update the minimum passing marks for the exam and to include a fifth option in the examination. The board further informed that the examination fees for REET 2025 will remain unchanged. Details notification on this will soon be uploaded on the official website, rsmssb.rajasthan.gov.in.
“The nodal agency for conducting the REET exam for eligibility of teacher level-1 and level-2 will be the Board of Secondary Education Rajasthan and the fees will remain the same as before. It was decided to update the minimum marks for passing the exam and also include the 5th option in the exam. The probable date of the exam will be in the second fortnight of January 2025,” the department of education, Rajasthan informed on X.

The REET exam is conducted for candidates aspiring to teach in Rajasthan schools. This state-level examination comprises Level 1 and Level 2 papers. Level 1 is designed for primary teachers who wish to teach Classes 1 to 5, while Level 2 is intended for upper primary teachers aiming to teach Classes 6 to 8. Candidates wishing to teach in Classes 1 to 8 must take both levels of the exam.
REET application fee
As per the previous year's REET notification, candidates can check the application fees for REET 2025, which are structured based on the level and applicant status. For those applying for Level 1, the examination fee is Rs 550. Candidates who want to apply for Level 2 will not be charged a fee if they are previous applicants of REET.
New applicants seeking to take the Level 2 exam will need to pay a fee of Rs 550. Candidates applying for both Level 1 and Level 2 will need to pay a total fee of Rs 750 if they are new applicants. Applicants from previous years will have to pay a reduced fee of Rs 200 for both levels.
